Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a resident of California, you may be entitled to additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”). This notice explains those rights and how to exercise them.

Your Rights Under CCPA

Right to Know

You have the right to request information regarding the personal data we collect, use, disclose, or share. This includes:

  • Categories and specific pieces of personal information collected

  • Sources from which the information was obtained

  • Business or commercial purposes for collecting or sharing data

  • Categories of third parties with whom we share information

Right to Delete

You may request the deletion of personal information we hold about you. Please note that deletion may result in the cancellation of your account, and once completed, it cannot be reversed.

Right to Opt Out of “Sale”

Care-Quotes may share certain personal information with advertising or technology partners for purposes that could be considered a “sale” under the CCPA. This may include:

  • IP address, advertising identifiers, or hashed email

  • Demographic details such as age, gender, and location

  • Data related to interactions with ads or content

  • Internet or network activity

You can opt out of such data sharing by submitting a request or adjusting your privacy settings.

Additional Rights for California Residents

  • Direct Marketing Disclosure: You may request details regarding the disclosure of your personal data to third parties for direct marketing purposes. Please send written requests to:

  • Minors Under 18: If you are under 18 and a registered user, you may request the removal of content you have publicly posted. Send an email with a detailed description of the content to be removed. Please note, in some cases removal may not be complete due to legal or technical requirements.

How to Exercise Your Rights

To submit a verifiable consumer request, you may:

  • Log into your account, go to Privacy and Settings, and select California Privacy Rights

  • Or email us directly with your request

If you are not a registered user, you will be asked to verify your identity by providing your name and the email address connected to your data.

You may also authorize an agent to submit requests on your behalf.

Non-Discrimination Notice

Exercising your privacy rights under the CCPA will not result in different pricing or service levels unless otherwise permitted by law. However, opting out of certain data sharing may affect personalization, such as receiving less tailored advertising.
